Duke Energy Tank Farm

KONICA MINOLTA DIGITAL CAMERA 

Objective: Duke Energy in Midland, PA desired to expand their propane distribution business through the construction of a large-scale propane tank farm.

Solution: M.W. Mielke, Inc., as a sub contractor, performed the piping installation of the tanks and accessories. equipment. After over 5,000 man hours, the project was completed and commissioned.

Results: The expanded capabilities of propane distribution have significantly increased Duke Energy’s market share in this core energy business.

NASA Production and Storage Facility Restoration

Objective: NASA desired to repair and restore a GN2 production and LN2 storage facilities through a multi-phase project designed to update and upgrade existing NASA systems.

Solution: M.W. Mielke, Inc. performed site work associated with the piping installation, including custom stands and multiple sizes of stainless steel piping. M.W. Mielke, Inc. also handled subcontracting of several related items including insulation and associated excavation work.

Results: The repair and upgrade initiative was highly successful in providing necessary upgrades and repairs despite severe budget cuts.

NASA research Center HVAC system

Objective: In a system-wide upgrade initiative, NASA Research Center saw the need to update and replace its existing HVAC system.

Solution: M.W. Mielke, Inc. performed demolition of three chiller units, pumps, reclaim refrigerant, boilers, and associated piping. M.W. Mielke, Inc. also installed new chiller and boiler systems, new chilled water piping with modifications and heating hot water system upgrades and modifications.

Results: A new modernized system was now in place, making use of new technology and innovations with a greener and more appealing energy-conscious footprint.
